Some of Our Favourite On-Site Tools for Bottle Painting

Did you just book yourself an on-site bottle painting gig? Congrats on the win! Now, the real question is, what will you be taking with you to site?

Here are some tools that we at FBP think are helpful and important (and love!)

1.      Acrylic paint brushes – These are definitely one of your key tool. You would need them to create those beautiful strokes and illustration on your surface! We recommend bringing various sizes and type to create the right shape and size to suit your bottle. We obvi love and highly recommend our event ready brushes that are designed specifically for acrylic paints, while looking professional. If you do not have them in your collection, get them here!

2.      Paint saver box with paint – This little tool is compact, light and portable. Instead of lugging gazillion number of bottles while travelling to your event, you can carry one little box that carries multiple colours and keep your work desk tidy. We love it so much, that we have a whole blog just about it. You can read it here.

*Disclosure, we recommend this tool specifically for calligraphers/bottle painters that do bottle painting event on smaller areas like perfume or wine bottles. Do make your decision at your own discretion.

3.      Palette – Any type of flat and light palette would be ideal. This is for you to mix (if needed) or blend your colours. We love our exclusive FBP palettes!

4.      Jar of water – Any jar or glass/cup to hold water to clean your brushes. If you know you will be having a high volume event, you may even consider bringing two jars instead.

5.      Paper towels – This is for cleaning your brushes between colours and for accidental drips and spills

6.      Rubbing alcohol – This is essential to clean your perfume or wine bottle surface before painting.

Other smaller, but still essential items that we think are helpful includes:

1.      Cotton pad – to clean your surface before painting.

2.      Cotton bud - to spot clean mistakes.

3.      Gloves – to keep your hands clean during the event.

4.      Face mask – Reusable face mask to keep everyone safe!

5.      Business card/Social stand – to connect with potential future clients and customers (and to grow that following!).

6.      Water bottle – always remember to keep yourself hydrated!
